Can I smoke my medical marijuana in Pennsylvania?

As of June of 2023, the answer is no. Pennsylvania law prohibits a medical marijuana user from smoking marijuana. Pennsylvania law does not currently allow a medical marijuana user to smoke marijuana. Instead, the marijuana must be vaporized.  Lawfully purchased marijuana, meaning marijuana purchased from a licensed dispensary, becomes illegal if the person smokes it. Whatever is being use to smoke the marijuana, such as a bong, pipe, or rolling pipers, can result in a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

If you don’t want to vaporize marijuana, then a person should consider buying a different type of marijuana.  Medical marijuana can also be purchased in other formats, such a pills, oils, topical creams and ointments, and tincture liquids.

Please do not get mad at me and contact me to complain that you should be able to smoke marijuana. I agree that the limitations on how medical marijuana is ingested do not make sense. I am simply the messenger. If you don’t like the law, change it by contacting your local politician.
